Foundation staff review proposal materials throughout the year in preparation for quarterly Board of Directors meetings. Applicants are contacted if further information is needed before a proposal is presented to the Program Committee, which may recommend forwarding to the Board or declining based on the information provided.
If the Program Committee recommends that the Foundation Board review the grant proposal, staff may request additional information and, in some cases, schedule a site visit with the applicant.
Final approval of each grant is the responsibility of the Board of Directors.
Decisions regarding applications forwarded to the Board of Directors are final. The Foundation will send written notice to applicants concerning Board decisions usually within 20 days following a Board meeting.
If funds are awarded, progress and/or final reports of the project/program as well as financial reports must be submitted by the grantee in accordance with a schedule decided upon by the Directors, usually within 90 days of the conclusion of the grant period. The applicant must accept this schedule and exchange of information regarding the project before any award payments begin or future grants are considered.
