Guiding Statement

The McNeely Foundation makes grants in the areas of education, human services, the environment, the arts and community betterment, and has a special interest in funding projects that benefit the Saint Paul community, especially East Side neighborhoods.

In doing its work, the McNeely Foundation prefers to act as a catalyst for creative approaches to individual and community issues, to leverage other resources through partnerships and the sharing of resources, and to evaluate the results of its grantmaking.

Goal Statement
To increase public access to parks and open space on the
greater East Side of St. Paul
Objectives
Provide stronger connections between East Side neighborhoods
and existing parks and open spaces, and
Provide programming to increase park access, usage a
and stewardship on the East Side.

    Education programs for middle-school students
    in East Side Saint Paul schools: after-school, youth enrichment
    and summer programs
    Goal Statement
     To increase the academic achievement of the middle-grade students
    identified as middle performers as they move through the pipeline grades 5-9
    with priority to the East Side of St. Paul.
     Objectives
    Increase academic support in the classroom with
    embedded programming; expand middle school-age access to community-based
    programming outside the regular school hours
